The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Systems Senior Manager to join our Southern California Global Design Center team located in Long Beach, CA.
This leadership position will manage employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Electrical Systems Design in the Engineering Group reporting through the Boeing Global Services Organization. The Electrical Systems Design Group supports a variety of customers for Boeing Global Services, including commercial aircraft modifications and passenger to freighter conversions.
 
Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead their department in developing integrated departmental plans and business strategies, including leading employee development plans, work assignments, technical strategies, goals, and objectives.
  • Be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with customers, other Boeing Business Units, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
     

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience performing, leading, or managing engineers on airplane programs
  • 3+ years of experience working with commercial aviation aircraft certification and/or validation processes and procedures
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace electrical engineering, aircraft systems/or avionics engineering
  • 10% Travel required
     

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 5+ years’ experience leading Electrical System design and development activities
  • 5+ years’ experience with the Commercial Airplanes Electrical Skill Team
  • In-depth knowledge of the Electrical Systems engineering discipline and at least 10 years’ experience as an engineer within an Aircraft Systems discipline.
  • Experience in supporting Commercial Aircraft modification programs
