Media Assistant / Technician

Job Description

The role of Laboratory Media  Assistant  / Technicians is to prepare media  keeping in mind efficiency, quality and accuracy standards as required by the company

Responsibilities:

• To ensure media stocks are maintained throughout the laboratory.
• To ensure the quality of the day-to-day work coming out of media, meets company standards and for problem solving any quality issues with other members of the media and senior team.
• Ensuring that all documentation is complete on time, accurately and legibly
• Responsible for keeping media area clean and tidy 
• Become familiar with all relevant laboratory procedures i.e. SOP’s.
• Accurately log data into the system in a timely manner.
• Be flexible to work in any area of the business as is required.
• Responsible for adhering to all company standards in the area of health and safety, housekeeping and quality, notifying management of any discrepancies.
• Responsible for ensuring equipment is in good working condition and communicate, in a timely manner, to the relevant departments when an issue arises

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

• No Science qualification is required as full training will be given, but experience in a food environment would be an advantage.
• A working knowledge of computers is essential
