About the role

Senior Product Manager - Personalization and Search (Hybrid - 1 to 2 days per week onsite in Irvine, CA)

Overview:

As a Senior Product Manager at Weedmaps, you will use your exceptional knowledge and product management skills to foster our current ML-driven personalization and search. Additionally, you will own the strategy and vision for our personalization models to provide a more personalized experience throughout our consumers online journey. As part of our engineering & product organization, you will identify and document customer requirements, oversee key aspects of the product development process and provide leadership to and coordination between executives, product management, account management and engineering. You are the driving force behind the development process, correlating and synthesizing information and talents from multiple teams and departments in order to maximize efficiency and are intelligent in your execution.

The impact you'll make:

  • Uncover and understand customer needs and translate them into requirements.
  • Ability to work well with internal teams, including but not limited to executives, engineers and operations. Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations.
  • Understand, research, and follow technical trends in the industry and in general. Able to assess emerging products and companies to measure their potential value or threat to the company and its products, as well as make recommendations on which new technologies to invest in or leverage.
  • Follow competitors and conduct capability analysis regularly.
  • Provide internal and customer training on how to use the product.
  • Answer incoming questions about the product and its capabilities.
  • Assess and address technical risks.
  • Understand and analyze data pipelines, algorithms, and automated systems.
  • Serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert to the technical/developer community.
  • Coordinate beta tests.
  • Partner with the Data Team to analyze performance indicators, evaluate experiments, etc.
  • Define success criteria for testing and product acceptance.
  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation.

What you've accomplished:

  • 5+ years in a product or project management role
  • A bachelor's degree in business, product management, or a relevant technical field
  • Experience in search, personalization and / or AI/ML
  • Proficiency with standard office and presentation software and platforms
  • Experience with vendor management platforms
  • Superb communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with internal teams, including but not limited to executives, engineers and operations. Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations.

The base pay range for this position is $152,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
