Senior Manager, Accounting Operations
The Senior Manager, Accounting Operations will be assisted in leading a team of order management, billing, cash collections and cash applications professionals in their day-to-day tasks as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and lead strategy for scaling the department for growth.
This will be a high visibility role that will assist in leading the company’s initiatives around timely and accurate billing and collections and supporting accounting operations. The ideal individual will be someone who has experience in assisting in managing order-to-cash process in a software company to support company growth and has the experience and presence to assist in leading and direct key initiatives around order management, billings, and collections, including process automation. The individual must be someone with a solid depth of knowledge of accounting concepts.
This position will interact with senior finance and operational staff from the company and will report to the VP of Finance, Corporate Controller.
What you will do:
Lead daily cash application tie out process, automate customer refund processing and approval or write-off workflows.
You will support the efforts to document processes for the order management and billing and collections functions and keeping those processes current.
Develop a comprehensive training and onboarding plan for the order management, billing and collections teams.
Work cross-functionally with Sales Operations, Revenue Accounting and other operational teams to ensure sales order information is accurate and complete prior to processing in our ERP by providing required guidance to those teams and the order management team.
Support the accounting month-end and quarter-end close and financial reporting processes including booking journal entries, account reconciliations and GL balance fluctuations.
Report to executive staff on key metrices around order management, billing, and collections.
You will be in-charge of SOX controls in the order management, billing, collections and accounts receivables processes
Partner with our FP&A and Treasury team to develop accurate collections targets and support the free cash flow projections
What you will need:
6+ years of order management and billing and collections experience in a SaaS company with at least 3 years of experience leading an order management and billing and collections department.
In-depth understanding of NetSuite processes around client record management, SKU management, billing, credit memos, revenue recognition and reporting.
A fair understanding of ASC 606 as it relates to SaaS companies with both cloud and on-premises products, as well as services.
Experience in developing teams and scaling teams in a growing company.
Must have an operational mindset to drive continuous improvement in processes by way of heavy reliance on metrics.
Experience working with cross functional teams to drive process improvements and efficiencies through automation.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience in communicating and reporting to senior level operational and finance staff.
Ability and desire to get into systems and create reporting capabilities and metrics as needed.
Excellent skills with spreadsheets.
Demand high quality work product from your team.
Experience working in a public company environment with understanding of month end close, requirements to comply with SOX.
BS or BA degree in accounting or equivalent.
