Job Description
Summary:
Provide beta system implementation services including installation and training of end users for Corporate and the Divisions. Is accountable to the Information Systems Manager for development, design, maintenance and support for software and hardware systems.
What You Will Do
- Have good analytical, technical, and communication skills
- Be a quick learner with ability to work within a team or independently
- Have the ability to maintain open lines of communication with others
- Apply a strong knowledge of application development techniques and tools to design, develop, test and implement a wide range of application solutions
- Investigate issues reported on the application system – to be able to understand user problems & identify root cause (analyze code, run debugger) and apply appropriate fix to resolve the issue
- Experience in Data Conversions from multiple sources (Flat Files, CSV, ASCII, XML) to AS400
- Provide services to program new and/or modify existing KBM / Infor system programs within Agile Framework
- Provide production support for KBM / Infor system to keep Data Center downtime to a minimum
- Provide superior customer service to external/internal clients, including response to incidents, proactively notifying customers of issues, and assessing and communicating business impact
- Resolve IT Incidents through resolution and as a point of contact
- Implementation of software and hardware projects within budget timeline and scope definitions
Qualifications
What We Are Looking For
Education and Experience:
College/University, minimum of four (4) years and degree in Computer Science/Math or related field (or equivalent experience)
Knowledge:
Be aware of changes, stay current on these changes and be knowledgeable of the impact these changes will or may have on the installed computer environment. It is extremely important for the Sr. Programmer/Analyst to keep abreast of the new programming techniques as well as the hardware and software enhancements offered by all vendors that could improve productivity of the employees of Weigh-Tronix.
Skills:
- Appropriate programming language -RPG IV / ILE
- Disciplined with Change Management System
- Coding CL
- SQL on the IBM Power System
- RPG Toolbox
- Varsity Shipsoft
- Familiarity with general computer hardware and software systems: VPN, Microsoft 365 / Teams
- Familiarity with general financial practices / principles
- Corporate manufacturing environment
Abilities:
Organizational and planning skills, people interaction, strong problem-solving ability.
