Job Description
We are looking for a new HR Director/Talent leader with vision and ability to build and continuously improve our growing high-performance R&D team. Reporting to the President, this is an opportunity to shape a successful team bringing new innovations to the world.

Ideally, you will be a top management leader with professional HR training; a good understanding of how to build and strengthen a successful technology R&D organization; strong communications, personal and management skills; personal productivity; and a high degree of initiative and responsibility. You will be able to recruit high quality talent and keep it. You will be intellectually nimble and thrive in an active environment full of opportunity and challenge. In leading HR, you will interact both within us as well as representing us externally, contributing to our growth and continuously improving our organization. Currently 1 part-time report.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Team leadership: Manage and perform all HR functions; build, develop and retain a high quality, collaborative, and satisfied high performance workforce that enables PCI to thrive in its innovation mission and culture. Develop effective and efficient approaches, policies, and procedures to strengthen PCI capability and support success.
- Organizational strategy: Lead within the executive team to support corporate mission and objectives, including with organizational development and structuring, workforce planning, employee engagement and retention, compensation and benefits, performance management, operational development, and role and policy development.
- Talent recruitment: Lead recruiting and staffing efforts to find, evaluate and hire technically astute, high-potential employees and contractors with strong skill sets and work ethics. Comfortable with science and technology development to comprehend PCI’s work and needs. Background and experience in science or technology development is preferred.
- Talent management: Design and implement career path development plans, performance reviews, training, and performance improvement plans. Work with managers to achieve good and improved personnel performance and motivation.
- Compensation and benefits: Develop and implement compensation strategy and structure including salaries, bonus and compensation changes as well as evaluating, determining, and implementing further improvements in PCI’s employee benefit programs. Good comprehension of benefits options and rules.
- Compliance with all laws: Ensure legal compliance with federal and state laws. Develop and administer HR policies, practices, procedures, and programs. Maintain and update Employee Handbook and other support documents.
Requirements
- 5-10+ years’ experience in Human Resources management with 5 years in a leadership role. Dynamic and progressive HR leader and business partner with proven results in strategic planning, leadership, and management in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business Administration with HR concentration, with experience in science & technology. Or potentially undergraduate STEM degree with solid training in HR. MS/MBA degree in HR-related field with BS in science or technology desired.
