At Grant Thornton Ireland, we don’t just predict your future, we build it.</p><p></p><p>About the Position</p><p>We are seeking a dynamic Senior / Assistant Manager to join our Sustainability Technical team, focusing on Sustainability Reporting. You will work with sustainability reporting standards, including the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), ISSB Standards, GRI Standards, and other relevant frameworks. Your position will involve developing technical resources and guidance to support sustainability reporting and to provide ongoing support to engagement teams.</p><p></p><p>This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about sustainability, thrives in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment and enjoys being part of a high-performing team. You will be a key player in fostering strong relationships across the firm and ensuring the consistent delivery of quality audit work.</p><p></p><p><b><u>Responsibilities</u></b><u>:</u></p><p></p><p><u>Technical Competence</u></p><ul><li><p>Expertise in sustainability reporting standards and frameworks: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant sustainability reporting standards (e.g. ESRS, IFRS S1 and S2, TCFD, GRI).</p></li><li><p>Regulatory Awareness: Stay up to date with emerging trends, regulations, and technologies in sustainability reporting.</p></li><li><p>Guidance Development: Draft technical guidance, templates, and examples to support engagement teams in delivering high-quality, consistent sustainability assurance engagements.</p></li><li><p>Collaborative Approach: Work with subject matter experts and stakeholders across the firm to ensure a unified approach to sustainability reporting.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><u>Training and Presentations</u></p><ul><li><p>Content Development: Prepare training materials for engagement teams focusing on key sustainability disclosures.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge Sharing: Regularly update internal teams on new developments in sustainability reporting and present complex topics in an understandable manner.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><u>Technical Consultations</u></p><ul><li><p>Engagement Support: Provide comprehensive, end-to-end technical support to teams performing sustainability assurance engagements.</p></li><li><p>Problem Solving: Research complex sustainability issues and provide practical solutions to audit and assurance teams.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><u>Collaboration and Team Development</u></p><ul><li><p>Relationship Building: Foster and maintain strong relationships with audit teams and other departments, ensuring smooth collaboration.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>Required Skills and Experience</u></b></p><ul><li><p>A Qualified Accountant - e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA qualified. Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in practice or industry.</p></li><li><p>Understanding or awareness of Sustainability reporting frameworks and standards, e.g. ESRS, IFRS S1 and S2, TCFD, GRI.</p></li><li><p>Detailed knowledge of financial reporting framework, preferably IFRS, IFRS as adopted by the EU, UK-adopted International Accounting Standards.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of sustainability- and corporate reporting environments and the interconnectivity with financial reporting.</p></li><li><p>Desire to be part of a high performing team covering a range of sustainability matters, in a dynamic, challenging environment.</p></li><li><p>Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.</p></li><li><p>Good communications skills, both written and verbal.</p></li><li><p>Comfort and ability in presenting complex topics.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint etc.</p></li><li><p>Ability to work on your own initiative.</p></li><li><p>Ability to foster, maintain and grow relationships across key stakeholders</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Grow with Us</b></p><p>At Grant Thornton, we value fresh thinking, collaboration, and diversity.
