Salesforce Inc. seeks Software Engineering MTS in San Francisco, CA:
Job Duties: Collaborate with the Ingress Gateway (IG) team building a highly scalable and distributed load balancing and gateway service to front all customer traffic coming into Salesforce. Provide simple declarative interfaces for L4/L7 load balancing, TLS termination, end-to-end encryption, along with support for richer traffic policies like blue/green deployments, access control, etc. Drive the design and implementation of the next generation IG control plane and data plane. Transform current software stack to adopt more cloud native primitives to build a more reliable, scalable, and feature-rich IG. Software stack is based on leading edge open source software like Envoy, Nginx for data plane and Istio, Consul, etc. for control plane. Enhance the capabilities of the OSS software and contribute back to the community. Continue making active upstream contributions to the Envoy project. Transform the way our north-south traffic is secured, load balanced and proxied before entering our core service mesh. Work as an experienced distributed systems engineer who is passionate, hungry for new challenges, can step up and own big chunks of that vision. ˆHQ address additionally encompasses the following Salesforce locations in San Francisco: 350 Mission Street, 415 Mission Street, and 50 Fremont Street. The permanent position may be offered at any of these locations in San Francisco. Travel to Salesforce offices is required. Telecommuting is an option.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related quantitative discipline, and two (2) years of experience in job offered or in any occupation in a related field.
A related technical degree required (Computer Science, Engineering).
Special Skill Requirements: (1) Micro-service architecture; (2) Python; (3) Golang; (4) Jenkins; (5) Kubernetes on AWS; (6) Bash; (7) Docker; (8) ssh; (9) nginx; (10) gRPC; (11) REST; (12) Linux and (13) TCP/IP. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Travel to Salesforce offices is required. Telecommuting is an option.
Salary: $155,605.00 - $188,600.00 per annum.
