Are you passionate about animal welfare and thrive in a fast-paced, people-focused environment? RSPCA Queensland is seeking a dedicated Foster and Offsite Adoption Coordinator to help connect animals with loving temporary homes and adoption opportunities.

About the Role

This dynamic role is based at our Dakabin Shelter and plays a key part in coordinating foster care and offsite adoption programs. You’ll work closely with internal teams, volunteers, and external partners to ensure animals are placed in safe, nurturing environments while receiving the highest standard of care.

Key responsibilities include:

- Coordinating the effective execution of foster programs and supporting KPIs for retention, onboarding, and engagement.

- Ensuring foster carers receive exceptional customer service and support.

- Strategically distributing animals and maintaining accurate health records.

- Facilitating strong relationships with internal departments and external adoption partners.

- Supporting onboarding, training, and upskilling of staff, volunteers, and foster carers.

- Matching foster animals with suitable carers and offsite adoption locations.

- Handling animals with confidentiality and care during placement processes.

- Assisting with adoption, rehoming, and general shelter duties as needed.

- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and RSPCA procedures.

- Providing day-to-day support to team members and volunteers.

- Collaborating with Shelter, Behaviour, Vet Services, Inspectorate, and Marketing teams.

- Ensuring accurate data entry and record maintenance.

- Working closely with the vet team at the Dakabin facility.

Who We’re Looking For

- 2–3 years’ experience in a customer-focused role.

- 2+ years’ experience in animal care or welfare.

- Strong customer service and communication skills across all levels.

- Solid animal handling knowledge and a commitment to ongoing learning.

- Experience in foster and adoption programs (highly regarded).

- Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and time management skills.

- Ability to adapt to changing protocols and environments.

- Understanding of relevant state Animal Welfare legislation.

- A team player with resilience and emotional maturity.

- Commitment to RSPCA Qld’s mission, values, and animal welfare principles.

- Physically capable of manual handling and lifting animals (minimum 10kg).
