We offer power purchase agreements to operators of wind or solar parks, optimise 3rd party batteries, and enter into origination deals within the B2B segment. We serve as Vattenfall’s single market access to energy commodity markets trading in electricity, emissions, fuels, freight, and renewable certificates. We are responsible for generating profits by taking positions within defined risk mandates and limits. We are active across Europe with more than 450 professionals working from Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK. </p><p>Within Markets the <strong>Business Unit (BU) Trading</strong> is the energy trading hub of the Vattenfall Group. BU Trading is responsible for all trading activities around Vattenfall's asset and customer flows to maximize value creation and improve sourcing costs. It provides all market access services for standard OTC and exchange-based energy commodities for the Vattenfall Group, which means managing all hedging flows, from generation assets or customers, by our market access function. Then this job could be something for you.</p><p>For our office in Hamburg we are looking for a <strong>Senior Green Gas Trader </strong>in the Gas Trading Department.</p><p>The Gas Trading department within the Business Unit Trading works closely with the both internal and external customers and takes a leading role in providing market solutions both physical and virtual. The Gas Trading department will take a leading role in the creation of Vattenfall’s future growth in the Green Gas sphere, by sourcing and optimizing a portfolio of Green Gases for the group.<br/>  </p><p><strong>Your main tasks and responsibilities as a Senior Green Gas Trader:</strong></p><ul><li>Establish fundamental analysis to support the business plan and build out of the business in the Green Gas Sphere</li><li>Identify business opportunities and be capable of bringing the business opportunities to successful conclusion</li><li>Understanding of both screen trading and originated market</li><li>A self-starter and ability to originate deals from scratch</li><li>Develop and build out a portfolio to be able to service both internal and external stakeholders</li><li>Work with and manage stakeholders both internal and external across multiple business units</li><li>Ultimately establish and manage commercially successful Green Gas portfolio that services internal business as well as being a market leader in Green Gas Products market wide</li></ul><p> </p><h3>Qualifications</h3><p><strong>Our ideal Senior Green Gas Trader </strong> <strong>has the following qualifications and capabilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong academic background with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in, e.g., business, economics, engineering, mathematics or physics</li><li>Several years’ experience in European energy markets in a commercial or trading environment at energy companies, banks, or hedge funds with a proven track record</li><li>Additional experience in a Project/ Business Development role with the ability to manage complex groups of stakeholders is beneficial</li><li>Knowledge about various Green Gases, including various EU and countries’ certification schemes, different certificates’ quality, and the possibility to transfer certificates</li><li>Strong analytical ability to create and manage the price risk exposure arising from internal and external stakeholders, in regards to the portfolio</li><li>Good understanding of European Regulatory market in light of Green Certification market</li><li>Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with various internal stakeholders and the willingness to share your knowledge</li><li>Result oriented, independent working method with high reliability and readiness to take on responsibility</li><li>Proactive team player with eagerness to learn with algorithmic trading strategies or in in pricing
