Work Shift:
7a-530p PRNI. Position Summary:
Provides for the comfort and well-being of the patient while in Houston Heart Institute. Assists cardiologist during electrophysiology/device procedures,
cardiovascular/peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures. Becomes proficient in the operation of all cardiovascular/peripheral related equipment and in the performance of any related duties of cardiovascular/peripheral procedures. Assists with PI, P&P, and staff education. Will perform in other areas of Cardiology including Holter monitor hook-up/ report retrieval, IABP, TEE’s, cardiac rehabilitation, fluoroscopy, pacemakers, and hemodynamic monitoring. Call rotation required with immediate response and 30-minute arrival time from notification. Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Houston Healthcare.
II. Qualifications:
A. Education & Training:
Graduate of approved school of nursing
B. Experience:
Two (2) years of Cardiac Cath Lab/EP or Critical Care Nursing
C. Required Certification/Registration/Licensure:
Current US state RN license with authorization to practice in the state of GA.
Current AHA/ARC BLS certification, required. AHA ACLS/AHA ALS
certification required or obtained within 9 months of employment. Successful
completion of an HHC Basic Rhythm Interpretation Course or CLEP Exam within
nine (9) months of hire.
D. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be able to utilize standard office equipment. Must be able to utilize
diagnostic treatment equipment as well as patient care equipment. Must be able to utilize personal protective equipment such as gloves, gown, mask, etc.
