THE CHALLENGE

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Strategic Sourcing to join our dynamic team at Onward Energy. This pivotal role will be responsible for leading the Strategic Sourcing function, which involves overseeing the procurement of goods and services essential to our operations. The Director will manage a dedicated team of 3-5 professionals, ensuring that all sourcing activities align with our company's strategic goals and objectives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to drive cost savings and operational efficiencies across the organization.
• Lead the sourcing and procurement activities for all major capital projects and operational needs.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, and contract management to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the company.
• Analyze market trends and leverage industry knowledge to identify opportunities for strategic sourcing improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives and operational requirements.
• Oversee the performance and development of the Strategic Sourcing team, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
• Report regularly to the SVP of Finance, Tax and Accounting on sourcing activities, cost savings, and other key performance indicators.

THE PROFILE TO SUCCEED

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, ideally within the power generation industry for thermal and renewable assets across multiple geographies.
• Proven track record of achieving significant cost savings and value creation through strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience managing complex supplier relationships and contracts.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organizatio
