Position Overview
The Supervisor, Warehouse Operations will supervise all physical shipping, receiving, and incoming raw material inspection for Exact Sciences Corporation to meet production schedules and on-time customer deliveries. This position will assist in the oversight of technical details for shipping and receiving processes, which includes domestic transportation and systems used, through troubleshooting and resolution to complications. The Supervisor, Warehouse Operations will supervise the training of new hires and existing personnel. This position will be responsible for defining protocols and procedures and will be involved in process analysis, process development, and the documentation of new or updated procedures for the department, with their focus being on capacity planning, material movement, equipment management and daily operations.
Essential Duties
Include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with change control processes, coordinate activities across departments, and monitor change controls initiated by the warehouse department.
- Manage incoming inspection documents for their assigned campus.
- Support the internal RMA processing for shipment and receipt of equipment, reagents, and ancillaries.
- Serve as a certified purchase order requestor by supporting the warehouse team in purchasing application, as well as involvement in all material handling equipment requisitioning.
- Act as the subject matter expert and integration captain for the warehouse management system.
- Support interactions with other teams on the development of SAP processes.
- Ensure the proper work accompanies each shipment and is trained and current on dangerous goods shipping. Lead hazmat and international shipping training for the warehouse team.
- Provide requirements and contribute to the selection of systems or processes applied to the inventory control and maintenance of materials and goods stored in all warehouses, specifically those materials not covered by inventory management’s supervision; maintain and supervise such processes and applications.
- Oversee policies and processes of receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming materials.
- Review and follow applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the processing of materials in SAP and through the receiving inspection system, labeling materials accordingly, and updating SOPs, as directed.
- Contact the appropriate individual(s) and department(s) with receipt details, as applicable.
- Place materials in inventory, deliver goods, or coordinate pickup of materials.
- Act as the lead troubleshooter who resolves inventory and receipt discrepancies by coordinating resolution with procurement and finance teams.
- Lead the freight claims process by documenting all problems noticed in the initial inspection to include pictures, notations on bill of ladings, driver’s notation, and notations on packing slips.
- Coordinate initiation of nonconforming material reports and ensure nonconforming materials are appropriately labeled and segregated per directives; follow through to ensure final disposition is complete and documentation is closed.
- Assist other warehouse associates and coordinate process improvements across departments by following the required change control processes; monitor and document all change controls initiated by the warehouse department.
- Facilitate shipment of outgoing materials or products through the coordination of inventory and paperwork.
- Support all departments within the organization by pulling the correct inventory for use, following the proper state shipping guidelines, and processing in SAP for shipment; package and process materials to be shipped in a manner consistent with IATA, DOT, and international customs regulations by labeling packages accordingly and ensuring the proper paperwork accompanies each shipment.
- Receive training and remain current on dangerous goods shipping.
- Call carriers to arrange for pickups or facilitates with in house representatives.
- Develop staff through training and provide training to new employees in areas of expertise.
- File or monitor the filing and dissemination of all receiving/shipping documents to their proper destination.
