SUE Field Technician (Subsurface Utility Engineering - All Levels

Your Primary Responsibilities will include

• Obtain a clear understanding of ASCE 38-02 standards and Quality Levels and their applications
• Provide underground utility flagging “designation” with proficiency utilizing ground penetrating radar and electromagnet equipment and other geophysical means.
• Designate all utility line types of conductive or non-conductive materials including: water, sewer, gas, electric, fiber optic, PVC and all other underground facilities that would affect an excavation of a site
• Mark said utilities with flags and/or paint and produce a sketch of results for future use by client.
• Operate vacuum excavation truck and other related equipment or “hand dig” to verify utility characteristics.
• Assist with maintenance of vehicle/trucks, equipment and work sites
• Research all utilities that may be on a site prior to entering site
• Exercise extreme caution near or around any utility facility and follow all applicable job site safety parameters

What you'll need

• High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school
• Experience in using electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies is a plus
• Basic computer skills and can learn and understand new software 
• Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history required. 
• CDL Class A license is a plus
• Ability to travel (up to 50% of the time)
• Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on project.
• Knowledge of equipment and ability to set up for various types for different work situations
