Job Description

The Director of Warehouse Operational Optimization, Innovation and Strategy is responsible for driving the GS North American warehouse operational, technical and productivity improvements as well as steering all warehouse optimization, innovation, modernization, standardization, digitalization and automation projects. This position is responsible for defining the True North for warehousing including WMS implementations, and any other footprint related project including but not limited to warehouse consolidations and de-consolidations.

 This position is responsible for

  • Providing functional expertise and driving continuous improvements in the Warehouse Operations and Key Performance Indicators such as Quality, Performance, Costs and Productivity, amongst others.
  • Steering and implementing strategic initiatives that directly influence short and mid-term impact on company growth, financial results, customer relationships, and associate relations.
  • Steering innovation, modernization, standardization, automation, digitalization and footprint related projects or initiatives and leading their deployment or implementation.
  • Steering and implementing new and upgraded warehouse management systems such as SAP-EWM, JDA, Blue Yonder and SAP-WM across all warehouses.
  • Participating at high levels of the organization in making strategic decisions regarding the organization’s direction.
  • Championing process improvements and strategic projects across the NA sites.
  • Promoting an environment of empowerment, development, diversity and inclusion throughout the organization.
  • Steering ISO9001/IATF compliance across full Global Services logistics organization.
  • Development of warehousing service portfolio in NA, including takeovers/mergers with internal Bosch locations.
  • Delivering projects on-time and within budget.
  • Develop and validate project- and investment-calculations.
  • Leading a team of 20 associates plus with 5 direct reports or more across multiple locations.
  • This position may require up to 30% travel based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

·       Bachelor degree in Supply Chain-Management, Supply Chain-Engineering Management or Business 

·       10+ years of experience in warehouse operations, process and optimization

·       5+ years of experience leading complex projects to include project management experience

·       5+ years of experience in steering and implementing strategic initiatives

Preferred Qualifications: 

·      5+ years of experience in Production Systems (e.g. Bosch-Production-System, Toyota), Lean- and Quality Tools

·      Ability to communicate to various levels of the organization while promoting empowerment and inclusion

·       Ability to work under pressure for continuous periods of time

·       Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and motivate others to execute

·       Ability to influence large cross functional teams and drive changes and solutions

·       Ability to well represent Source to Deliver at board of management level events through the use of strong and effective communication and presentation skills

·       Ability to objectively present a subject and engage with others in a collaborative manner     

·       Ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams

·       Masters degree in Supply Chain-Management, Supply Chain-Management Engineering or similar field

·       Experience in working within a multi-cultural organization

·       PMP certification

·       Lean-Six-Sigma Black-Belt
