Project Cost Controls Manager

Due to growth CS Energy is looking for a Project Cost Controls Manager. The Project Cost Controls Manager works under the guidance of our Project Controls Director and in partnership with our Operations Team and Financial Planning and Analysis Department to establish and manage processes that will monitor, report and control project cost/expenditures across the enterprise.
This is role will require periodic travel to construction jobsites throughout the North-East. We are open on location, the Project Cost Controls Manager can be based out of our office (Edison, NJ; Albany, NY; or Worcester, MA) when not in the field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The Project Controls Manager reports directly into the Director of Project Controls and works cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, Project Management Office (PMO) and Operations team on portfolio cost-control, forecasting and cost reporting, as well as measuring and reporting project earned value analysis.
- Ensures that all project expenditures are captured daily and properly recorded.
- Ensures that project cost and revenue reports are published weekly.
- Assists the Operations leadership with annual project-based P/L projections.
- Produces accurate projections of time and cost.
- Ensures proper ties between project costs, revenue, and project schedule.
- Performs Earned Value Analysis, issues weekly reports to forecast overall project costs at completion.
- Advises project teams on strategies to maintain project budgets and opportunities to increase margin.
- Ensures that Subcontractor and vendor invoices/payment applications matches the daily receipts (tickets to show what was received and completed), invoices received and the Purchase Orders
- Attends and participates in team meetings both remotely and on the jobsite.
- Creates databases and tools that will help provide further insight into CS Energy’s project portfolio.
- Presents project plans, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior business leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in: Management, Construction Management or a technical field from an accredited university or college – is preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in EPC Cost Controls.
- Broad and technical knowledge of construction processes and materials.
- Energy/Power Construction markets experience highly desired.
- Experience using Microsoft Project for EVM and Cost Loading of Schedules.
- Previous experience successfully managing cost controls for multiple complex portfolios that are valued at 20 million or greater per project.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access (ability to build databases highly desired).
- Strategic thinker with a track record for developing innovative solutions to difficult Business problems.
- Diligent, dedicated and detail oriented.
