This is a highly responsible and professional position serving as the General Services Director, providing strategic leadership and technical oversight in the delivery of a broad range of general services essential to agency operations. The General Services Director plays a critical role in advancing the agency’s mission by ensuring that all support services are delivered efficiently, effectively, and in full compliance with applicable standards and regulations. This senior-level position is responsible for fostering operational excellence, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring cost-effective, high-quality service delivery across multiple domains.
Key areas of responsibility include Design and Construction Management, Fixed Capital Outlay (FCO) Contracts and Project Management, Statewide Fleet Management, Mental Health Treatment Facility Property Management, Environmental Compliance, Statewide Leasing and Logistics, including management of state-owned and private leased facilities, space management, and maintenance, Energy Conservation, Risk Management and Safety Programs,Department Forms and Publications Administration, Records Management, Property and Equipment Custodian Oversight and Inventory Control, Housekeeping and Central Support Services.
The Director provides strategic vision, operational direction, and technical guidance to ensure all general services functions align with the agency’s goals, support continuous improvement, and promote operational sustainability.
How you will make an impact:
- Provide Strategic Leadership: Direct and oversee all general services functions to ensure efficient, high-quality, and compliant operations that advance the Department’s mission and goals.
- Design & Construction Management: Lead capital construction and renovation projects from concept through completion, ensuring timely delivery, fiscal accountability, and adherence to safety and design standards.
- Fixed Capital Outlay (FCO) Contracts & Project Management: Oversee budgeting, contracting, and execution of FCO projects, optimizing resources to achieve maximum value and operational efficiency.
- Statewide Fleet Management: Manage vehicle acquisition, maintenance, and replacement programs to ensure safe, cost-effective, and sustainable fleet operations across the state.
- Facility Management & Maintenance: Oversee the operation and upkeep of mental health treatment facilities, ensuring safe, compliant, and therapeutic environments for clients and staff.
