Job Description
The customer quality engineer role is responsible for the after sales activities, mainly related to warranty costs, policies, monitoring and cross functional projects for costs reduction and customer delight.
- Manage of field Q-topics
- Tracking of customer field warranty and external defect costs (EDC)
- Negotiation of warranty reimbursements
- Coordination of Q-Initiatives or task forces
- Continuous visit at customer sites, if applicable
- Tracking of cycle time warranties
- Tracking of Customer Satisfaction index
- Provide possible test procedures to get the failure data
- Analyses the data, initiate actions, and track progress for product improvements includes leading cross functional review team on the actions)
- Coordinate warranty policies across Sales, TSS and other functions
- Monitor payments and deliveries of analyzed parts to the customer
Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in related field
- 2+ years of professional experience in quality management, engineering, service or production
- Experience in any Quality tool such as 8D’s, PDCA’s, Process Mapping, amongst others
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Great team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent customer focus
- Sharp attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of QA databases and applications
Preferred:
- Bachelors degree in technical related areas e.g. engineering, technician, or computer science
- Mechanical and/or electronic technical background
- Experience with customer warranty/services strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of products and services
- Experience in warranty related processes
