About the role
Commercial Journeyman Electrician
Position Summary: Provides maintenance and construction services, including conduit work, installing and uninstalling wiring, and daily troubleshooting in commercial office buildings.
Position Responsibilities:
- Flexibility and willingness to work night or day shift as requested.
- Plan or modify installations to minimize material waste and ensure future maintenance and installation access.
- Follow blueprints.
- Install electrical conduit.
- Connect power cables to equipment using hand tools.
- Connect wiring to lighting fixtures.
- Observe the functioning of installed equipment.
- Test installed equipment for safety and electrical compatibility.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Electrical experience in a maintenance and service environment.
- Good reading comprehension.
- Ability to work well with others and be a team player.
- Good communication skills with clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Commitment to Zachry values and safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals to determine work procedures.
- Must have experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Must have state of Texas Journeyman electrical license.
- Must have journeyman Electrician tools.
- Minimum 3-5 years of commercial maintenance experience.
- Must have reliable transportation and flexibility to work as needed.
- Valid driver's license.
Valued but Not Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Former Zachry employee.
- Formal education/degree/technical or trade school.
- Service truck experience.
- Communication cabling.
- Experience with man lifts and forklifts.
- Experience with 4,160 volts.
Reporting to:
- ConocoPhillips Headquarters located in Houston, Texas.
Physical Demands:
- Requires extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting.
- Occasional work at heights from man lifts, climbing ladders and stairs.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, safety vests, gloves, steel-toe boots, and FRCs.
Work Environment:
- Primarily in a climate-controlled environment.
- Occasionally in all weather conditions, ranging from warm/hot to cool/cold.
- Low noise levels.
