Commercial Journeyman Electrician

Position Summary: Provides maintenance and construction services, including conduit work, installing and uninstalling wiring, and daily troubleshooting in commercial office buildings.

Position Responsibilities:

• Flexibility and willingness to work night or day shift as requested.
• Plan or modify installations to minimize material waste and ensure future maintenance and installation access.
• Follow blueprints.
• Install electrical conduit.
• Connect power cables to equipment using hand tools.
• Connect wiring to lighting fixtures.
• Observe the functioning of installed equipment.
• Test installed equipment for safety and electrical compatibility.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Electrical experience in a maintenance and service environment.
• Good reading comprehension.
• Ability to work well with others and be a team player.
• Good communication skills with clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Commitment to Zachry values and safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals to determine work procedures.
• Must have experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Must have state of Texas Journeyman electrical license.
• Must have journeyman Electrician tools.
• Minimum 3-5 years of commercial maintenance experience.
• Must have reliable transportation and flexibility to work as needed.
• Valid driver's license.

Valued but Not Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Former Zachry employee.
• Formal education/degree/technical or trade school.
• Service truck experience.
• Communication cabling.
• Experience with man lifts and forklifts.
• Experience with 4,160 volts.

Reporting to:

• ConocoPhillips Headquarters located in Houston, Texas.

Physical Demands:

• Requires extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting.
• Occasional work at heights from man lifts, climbing ladders and stairs.
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, safety vests, gloves, steel-toe boots, and FRCs.

Work Environment:

• Primarily in a climate-controlled environment.
• Occasionally in all weather conditions, ranging from warm/hot to cool/cold.
