Construction Observer (Inspector II)

Primary Function

The Construction Inspector works for the CM to oversee multiple contractors involved in ongoing projects.  The Construction Inspector will maintain the high safety standards. The Construction Inspector reviews and understand requirements of contract documents, specifications, and drawings as well as compliance with building and regulatory agency requirements. 

Primary Duties

• Works for the CM to oversee multiple contractors involved in the new build and rehabilitation projects
• Prepares Daily Reports
• Maintains the high safety standards set by the (relevant city/agency)
• Reviews and understands requirements of contract documents, specifications and drawings as well as compliance with building and regulatory agency requirements
• Processes, logs, and tracks Submittals, RFIs, DN’s, NCR’s and CARs
• Maintains accurate record-keeping related to progress meetings, schedule reviews, document review
• Manages project level PCOs, interface with Change Order Management team, estimators, and assist CM CO Negotiations
• Attends and record monthly/weekly/daily contractor and client meetings.
• Reports progress and risk issues to Construction Manager and Program Construction Manager

Education and Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• OSHA training 30 hour

• Experience of shutdown protocols, interfaces with existing facilities with minimum disruption to operations

• Experience working with civil and building inspectors and electrical and control engineers/inspectors
• Direct experience working with contractors in the field
• 2 years of relevant industry experience and construction experience
