To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Combustion and Emissions Science: A deep understanding of combustion systems, including the conversion of chemical energy to heat, exhaust pollutant formation, and the use of modeling and experimental tools.
- Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer: Proficiency in interpreting and predicting the performance of fluid and thermal systems, leveraging knowledge of liquid and gas flow, thermal energy transfer, and relevant tools.
- Thermodynamics and Energy Conversion: Expertise in energy conversion systems such as internal combustion engines, gas turbines, fuel cells, and batteries, with a solid grasp of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
- Product Failure Mode Avoidance: Skills in identifying and mitigating potential product failure modes to improve reliability through comprehensive analysis and prioritization of failure causes.
- Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis: Ability to impact product design decisions using computational tools and methods to predict product function capabilities at various system levels.
- Problem Solving and Systems Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills to address product issues, determine root causes, and implement robust solutions, along with the ability to define and analyze systems to predict behavior and devise modifications.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.
Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making. Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
