Sr. Manager, Relationship Management - Card Association Management Team

This is an exciting time to join the Card Association Management (CAM) team. We are at the epicenter of innovations happening across our Card, Retail and Commercial Banking businesses. From enabling new product launches, to engagement in our payment network strategy and negotiating our network agreements, the CAM team is helping deliver needle-moving results.

The CAM team manages the Capital One relationship with our payment network partners, currently focused on Visa and Mastercard. We manage our contract negotiations with the networks, including those for new issuance, new product development, tech development, research initiatives, cardholder benefits, and others. The team also serves as the liaison between the payment networks and the various lines of business within Capital One, including Consumer Card,  Business Cards & Payments (BC&P), Retail Bank, Digital, Canada, and the UK. Finally, the team works to optimize network economics from the perspective of fees, incentives, and interchange to maximize cardholder experiences and corporate financial performance.

We are seeking a strategically minded relationship manager, who is a top-notch problem solver and exceptional executive influencer to lead our efforts supporting the BC&P and Retail Bank lines of business.

The successful candidate will have: 

• Proven success building consultative relationships with senior leaders

• Ability to gain significant credibility, trust and support across all levels of the company

• Confidence and poise to influence senior leadership teams and stakeholders

• Desire to be a team player and build strong partnerships

• Strong project management, presentation, marketing and creative skills

• Ability to make strategically bold decisions in a disciplined, fact-based manner, and identifying where the leverage is

• Ability to lead deal negotiations 

• Experienced in strategic marketing planning and product development

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience

• At least 3 years of relationship management experience

• At least 3 years of Project management, Process management or Product Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree or MBA

• 4+ years of client or vendor management experience

• 4+ years of relationship management experience 

• 4+ years of Project Management, Process Management or Product Management experience

• Third Party Management certification

• Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, Business Process Management, or Project Management certification  

• Strong communication, problem solving and collaboration skills

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
