We’re searching for a Senior Technical Program Manager - Remote Assist.
In this role, you will
- Partner deeply with Remote Assist Product Management, Vehicle Platform Engineering, Autonomy Engineering, and Operations to execute on our roadmap for developing a reliable and effective Remote Assist platform and service. Specifically, the Technical Program Manager is expected to:
- Have a deep technical understanding of how the Autonomy system (particularly Perception and Motion Planning subsystems) work, and how to implement new Remote Assist triggers and commands.
- Have a deep technical understanding of how the Aurora platform software works including cloud infrastructure, network coverage, latency, uptime, and quality, and platform UI/UX.
- Have a deep understanding of Remote Assist operations by working closely with our Remote Assist Specialists in Dallas, TX to understand opportunities for platform and user experience improvements. Ensure that operational user needs are factored into our product.
- Work closely with the Remote Assist team to verify and validate the platform and service in order to satisfy the requirements of the Aurora Safety Case.
- Remove obstacles to drive momentum and progress, identify gaps in communication or schedule, manage issue escalations and provide support to teams balancing competing priorities, and drive results proactively.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Technical Program Manager, Product Manager, or Engineering Manager, or Engineer in an autonomous systems, robotics, data science, machine learning, computer vision, or software development environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Data Science, Information Systems or a related area, or the equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability preferred.
- A strong familiarity with machine learning models, robotics or computer vision systems and their architecture.
- Experience working with Operations, both at the leadership and operator level, to appreciate how the product is being used and understand what is needed to maximize reliability and effectiveness.
- Direct, measurable impact through the design, development and launch of groundbreaking products or delivery of significant and novel technology programs.
- Solid technical aptitude and an ability to understand technical designs, software development lifecycle, challenges and risks; ability to work closely with engineers.
- Strong experience in project management; practical familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and ability to apply them where best suited.
- Passion for shipping new to market products and the ability to dynamically adapt to new responsibilities needed to do so
The base salary range for this position is $156,000.00-$234,000.00 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
