Job Description: The Architecture and Fine Arts Library is looking for a customer service-oriented student to join our Service Desk team. Responsibilities of the position include: 

• Staffing the Service Desk 

• Searching the UF Library Catalog to determine the location of library materials and if they are available for loan to patrons 

• Loaning and returning of library materials 

• Assisting patrons with Course Reserves, printers, scanners, and workstations in the library, and answering basic questions regarding their library accounts and policies 

• Answering telephone calls and providing directional assistance 

• Assisting patrons with general questions and referring them to other staff members when needed 

• Organizing and re-shelving circulating library materials 

• Patrolling the library to collect browsed library materials, and reporting maintenance or technical equipment issues to supervisor 

• Assisting supervisor with collections projects (re-shelving, dusting, organizing, and shifting sections of the collection) 

 

Work Schedule: 

For the Spring 2025 semester, January 2, 2025 – June 18, 2025. Employment may continue into the Fall 2025 semester if the candidate has Federal Work Study award.  The current need is for 12 hours a week. 

 

Architecture & Fine Arts Library Spring 2025 hours:  

Monday-Thursday 8am-10pm 

Friday 8am-5pm 

Saturday 1pm-5pm 

Sunday 2pm-10pm

Expected Salary:

$13/hour

Minimum Requirements:

Federal Work Study Award for Spring 2025 semester 

Must be able to work night and weekend shifts.  

Punctual and reliable

Detail-oriented and self-motivated

Good communication skills and customer-service oriented

Must be able to lift 25 lbs and be able to climb flights of stairs
