This position is eligible to participate in the ASE Stipend Pay Program, employees can earn up to $3000 a year with qualifying certifications.  We will reimburse 100% of the cost of passed tests! 

Uniforms provided to shop employees at no charge and are eligible to participate in the Safety-toe Shoe reimbursement program (100% of cost up to $250.00 every other calendar year)

Personal Tool Allowance of $1000 per calendar year and Personal Tool Insurance Coverage 100% for qualified losses on state premises 

Work Hours: Monday through Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm 

The anticipated hire rate for the position is $20.9423 ($43,559 annually) with the potential to earn up to $22.3841 ($46,559 annually) when ASE certifications are obtained.

Job Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for performing Preventative Maintenance (PM's) including lube/oil change, minor repairs, provides customer support, and service. Also responsible for the inspection, repair, and replacement of tires on all Light and Heavy Duty Equipment. Communicates vehicle concerns with customers and enters required data into PC based Fleet Management System.

Job Duties:

Perform preventative maintenance on all types of light and heavy duty equipment, including lube/oil change, tire repair/mounting, and minor repairs or adjustments. Communicates with Lead Technician/CSR or Supervisor on additional repairs required that are discovered during PM's and assists in completing major overhaul/repair projects as directed.

Inspect, repair and/or replace all types of tires on light and heavy duty equipment.

Perform minor repairs on all types of equipment such as replacing batteries, light bulbs, belts and hoses. Assist skilled mechanics in completing major overhaul/repair projects.

Provide customer support and service.

Enter required data into a PC based Fleet Management System. Update and maintain PM service records.

Operate vehicles and/or equipment requiring a driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
Tire sizes, ratings and tread design.
Preventative maintenance requirements and procedures including lube/oil change and tire mounting/repair.
ADOT and Equipment Services policies and procedures.
Vehicle/equipment safety check practices and procedures.
Basic electric, and/or hydraulic systems checking.
Basic record keeping procedures.
Basic knowledge of minor automotive and equipment repairs.

Skill in:
Safely repairing and replacing all tires of any size.
Performing general preventative maintenance including lube/oil change, tire mounting/balancing/repair, and electric, electronic, and hydraulic systems checks, on a variety of vehicles/equipment.
Making minor repairs/adjustments to a variety of vehicles/equipment.
Basic record keeping.
Data entry in a Fleet Management System.
