Job Purpose
The Sr. Director of Finance Specialty Global will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the financial functions of the Specialty segment as well as working with the business team leaders to improve the financial performance of the segment. This position will report to the President of the Specialty Segment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Month End Close
General Americas Region for Specialty Segment
- Provide guidance on adjusting / balance sheet correction journal entries required to close the monthly results.
- Oversee proposed entries and accounting treatments with entity controllers.
- Oversee month-end results for Americas Transportation and EAS entities and compare to forecast, budget, Y-T-D run-rate and prior year results.
- Manage impacts of one-off entries or unusual operations or customer activity.
- Prepare Financials bridges for the Month and Qtr results explaining significant differences to forecast and highlighting important business trends and issues
- Oversee any significant business or P&L issues and action items for sharing with Specialty Management team (both local teams and President of Specialty Segment).
- Prepare Monthly Financial result presentation, discussing the results and future business outlook and key issues for both the Specialty leadership team and the EnerSys Corporate Management teams
- Review key liability reserves at Qtr end for the Americas Specialty business
- Oversee Corporate balance sheet review templates (Quarterly) for the Americas Specialty entities and address any risks with local teams.
- Support the Qtr End close and SEC reporting with footnote support, MD&A analysis and balance sheet variation reviews for the Specialty Segment
- Prepare BOD slides for the Specialty segment and discuss the key issues with the President of Specialty in preparation for the BOD Qtrly Meeting
Forecast and Budget Role
- Review and finalize monthly Specialty financial forecast submission, make necessary spending changes and prepare forecast bridges to prior forecasts and budget
- Attend monthly Specialty sales forecast review calls and assess positioning of top line volume forecasts and any SIOPS performance issues
- Provide leadership and direction on key business issues that arise from updated financial forecast to the Specialty management team (both local teams & Corp Specialty Management).
- Manage the annual Budget process including helping to establish budget sales, regional budgets for the Specialty segment and identifying key business trends and issues compared to prior year results and current year forecast
- Manage the 5yr planning process for the specialty segment including assessing the reasonableness of the top line revenue growth and business strategy and the preparation of top level financial models in support of the plan
Other Ad-hoc Responsibilities
- Oversee Government Contracting supporting financial data and processes for Americas EAS business to ensure locations are in compliance with Gov't rules {CAS & FAR}.
