Job Description:

The Head of Commercial Learning, Knowledge, and Confidence is accountable for the implementation of integrated learning strategies, tactics and solutions that drive success for our commercial employees, shareholders, and customers. This role works in close partnership with the Enterprise Learning and Development team and the AMCB L&D team to support the achievement of our business objectives.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Oversees the overall delivery of learning programs/curriculum and ongoing content management for all areas of Commercial Banking
  • Develops Commercial learning plan and provides input to evolving enterprise and AMCB learning strategies and priorities, consistent with business objectives and Human Resources strategic imperatives, and recognizes emerging trends in the workforce and workplace
  • Works in close partnership with Talent and Learning Lead as well as Talent and Learning Advisor to drive strategy, execution and understanding of business requirements.
  • Implements learning solutions in response to the business need by either leveraging existing Enterprise products or developing new ones.
  • Monitors implementation and sustains desired objectives through clearly established success metrics
  • Drives the blended learning approach via development/delivery/maintenance of a wide variety of learning and development solutions, programs and tools aligned to business/HR objectives and talent management strategy
  • Provides expertise to partners on emerging learning initiatives, best practices and/or available industry options (e.g. formal and informal training, a variety of delivery models, use of on-the-job experiences, etc.) that support Commercial business needs and align to enterprise and AMCB L&D strategies
  • Ensures learning programs that involve the Commercial LOB are well managed and administered; coordinates and ensures the prompt and thorough resolution of broad and complex issues; strategic initiatives and directives are carried out effectively while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and principles
  • Provides change management leadership for implementation of enterprise and/or local learning initiatives in the Commercial LOB. Collects and uses data to assess the effectiveness of initiatives, to enhance their success and to achieve positive, measurable results
  • Partners with other HR functions (including talent acquisition, talent management, diversity, total rewards, HR compliance, etc.) to develop and influence L&D programs and processes to support learning objectives
  • Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assesses potential impacts to the bank. Identifies, mitigates and reports on risk issues per enterprise policy/guidelines and ensures appropriate escalation processes are followed
  • Benchmarks and analyzes emerging trends and market intelligence of best in class practices against both competitors, non-competitors and other internal LOBs. Develops and maintains key industry associations, internal and external relationships, ensuring we continue to leverage best practices

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of related sales experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a Retail senior management and/or senior learning and knowledge management role required
  • Experience creating, leading and coaching large teams
  • Demonstrated leadership and relationship management skills with a superior ability to make things happen through the use of impact, influence, negotia
