Product Manager

PrimeSource Building Products, one of the nation’s largest distributors of building materials, has an immediate opportunity available for an experienced Product Manager in our Irving, Texas corporate office.  The Product Manager will own multiple categories within the Building Materials space driving product and pricing strategy, sales and margin growth, and new product development within the assigned categories. 

 

This position will be responsible for the following and additional duties may be assigned as necessary:

 

• Develop and execute the product roadmap and growth strategy for the assigned categories
• Partner with Marketing to develop and launch marketing plans for new products, product enhancements and ensure all product specifications are in place and up to date
• Lead development and commercialization of product knowledge training support materials for our field selling organization, customers, and end users
• Track and review financial performance and other key indicators to identify product/channel trends and proactively create corrective actions as needed
• Work closely with procurement team to optimize costing negotiations and optimal procurement procedures
• Create and execute programs with our strategic vendor partners to support product marketing and category growth opportunities

 

Education and/or Experience:                                               

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University
• Minimum of 3 years of previous experience within Product Management, Marketing, or Sales
• Proven track record of working with various partners to plan, execute and track product releases from inception to completion

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience presenting and speaking to wide-ranging audiences (including senior management), customer visits, webinars, training, trade shows and industry events
• Strong level of business acumen
• Demand planning and forecasting experience
• Ability to connect with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute an effective strategy
• Strategic thinker with experience in articulating a strategy and product vision
• Project management skills to execute a product roadmap, moving a project from inception to completion
