Title and Summary
Director, Tax- Transfer PricingOverviewAs a member of the Transfer Pricing and International tax planning team, the Director, Tax- Transfer Pricing will help ensure the company's compliance with the transfer pricing requirements of all jurisdictions MasterCard operates in. Part of the responsibilities of this position will also involve supporting various international tax planning initiatives and tax controversy.
Role
Plays a key role as a team member of the Transfer Pricing function to ensure the company's compliance with global transfer pricing requirements, including Section 6662 documentation, BEPS initiative, and TP filings and documentation in foreign countries.
Coordinates with external advisors and colleagues located in each of our regions to assist with the execution of the transfer pricing policies, compliance, and documentation, including the following:
• Support a global transfer pricing strategy which is in alignment with the objectives of MasterCard’s business operations;
• Identify planning opportunities for the tax efficient growth of the business,;
• Support the global tax team in domestic and international tax audits and TP planning initiatives;
• Coordinate with the responsible internal parties the accounting entries for transfer pricing related matters, such as monitoring and reconciling recording of intercompany transactions in local statutory accounts, including any yearend adjustments; and
• Serve as a partner to colleagues within finance and other business teams by providing tax information and advice with regard to transfer pricing and other related international tax matters.
Research and documentation of tax positions and preparing tax memoranda to support conclusions on various issues is required.
Remain current on proposed and enacted tax law changes and global transfer pricing documentation requirements which may impact MasterCard operations or tax planning opportunities.
All About You
We are seeking a senior-associate or manager-level tax professional with relevant international tax experience including general knowledge and skills in transfer pricing analysis, documentation and compliance (past experience performing functional and benchmarking analyses a plus). Big 4 accounting background and/or economics experience desired.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work with people at all levels in the organization
• Proven ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in a fast-paced corporate environment
• Ability to organize, manage and work effectively to accomplish multiple tasks
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience drafting tax memoranda and reports
• Strong analytical skills, as demonstrated through relevant work experience
• Working knowledge of internal financial accounting systems (or willingness and aptitude to learn); ability to pull financial data from systems and manipulate the data to create projections, what-if scenarios, etc. to support the evaluation of various tax planning initiatives
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and external tax research tools
• Team player with strong project management skills, and a strong desire in career development.
• B.A. in Accounting, with relevant transfer pricing experience in public accounting, law firm, or in-house corporate tax.
