Job Summary

Working as the Financial Analyst you will report directly to the Controller, and will be responsible for creating and monitoring purchase orders at the University of South Florida facilities department, while ensuring that financial activies are in compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations.  

Note - This is a Hybrid role, the Purchase Order Finance Analyst will have the ability to work 2 days from home and 3 days in the office. 

 Key Responsibilities:

• Create, monitor and process purchase orders for the department
• Provides financial guidance to operating units within the region on matters involving purchase orders
• Documents and maintains complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transaction.
• Provides accurate and timely reporting on financial activity 
• Creates and designs reports and spreadsheets; creates and maintains a database to organize, collect and upload data into required reporting formats
• Recommends appropriate accounting controls to be implemented and develops new and/or makes revisions to previous fiscal procedures
• Serves as a liaison for the department and financial department
• Assure that all financial activity is in compliance with departmental policy
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree  from four-year College or University in Accounting or Finance preferred; three to five years of related 
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
• Ability to competently use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
