This is a full-time position based out of our Irvine office.

Pay rate: $25.00 - $28.00 an hour

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented In-House Legal Assistant to join our risk and legal team. This newly created role is crucial in supporting the risk and legal department by assisting with a variety of legal and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will work closely with legal counsel, risk managers and other departments to ensure the efficient operation of the legal function within the company. Position Responsibilities:

  • Document Management: Draft, review, and organize legal documents, contracts, and correspondence. Ensure accurate filing and archiving of legal documents both electronically and physically.
  • Contract Administration: Assist with the preparation, review, and management of contracts, including NDAs, vendor agreements, and employment contracts. Track contract deadlines and renewal dates.
  • Compliance Support: Assist in ensuring the company’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies. Help track compliance requirements and deadlines.
  • Litigation Support: Assist in managing litigation files, including assisting with discovery requests and coordinating with outside counsel as needed.
  • Administrative Support: Manage the scheduling and calendar for legal meetings, internal and external communications, and deadlines. Handle billing and assist with invoicing for legal services.
  • Internal Communication: Serve as a liaison between the legal department and other internal departments to address legal issues and ensure that legal concerns are properly communicated and handled.
  • General Legal Assistance: Provide general legal support for the legal team, including document drafting, handling routine inquiries, and other related tasks.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree preferred
  • Ability to communicate diplomatically and effectively with community management staff and regional and corporate staff.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Adept at multi-tasking with strong organizational and project management skills, and able to turn around projects quickly and deliver on schedule
  • Proven ability to work independently, discretely, and handle confidential information
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
