Job Description

As the Director of Global Product Compliance at Vuori, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our products meet all applicable legal, safety and quality standards across international markets. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust compliance strategies, establishing product compliance frameworks, and leading a team of professionals to ensure our products meet regulatory requirements globally. This position requires strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of global product compliance regulations and excellent communication and collaboration skills. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Develop and execute a comprehensive global product compliance strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives and values. 
• Stay up to date with relevant international regulations, standards, and industry best practices to ensure Vuori’s compliance practices are current and effective. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, development, sourcing, production and legal to integrate compliance requirements throughout the product development lifecycle. 
• Lead efforts to identify, interpret and assess global product compliance regulations, including but not limited to safety, quality, labeling, chemical restrictions, restricted substances, and environmental regulations. 
• Ensure product compliance with applicable laws and regulations in all target markets. 
• Implement processes to monitor and track changes in regulations and standards, and effectively communicate those changes to internal stakeholders. 
• Implement and manage compliance programs to evaluate suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors for compliance with product safety and quality standards. 
• Develop and deliver training programs to educate internal teams on product compliance obligations and best practices. 
• Liaise with external stakeholders, such as regulatory authorities, industry associations, and certification bodies to stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes. 
• Foster a culture of compliance and accountability withing the team and across the organization. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in business, engineering, manufacturing, chemistry, law, environmental science or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
• 10+ years of product compliance management preferably within the apparel industry, with a focus on global  
• Strong knowledge of international product compliance regulations, standards, and testing protocols. (e.g. REACH, CPSIA, Proposition 65, Oeko-Tex, etc.)  
• Proven track record of developing and implementing effective compliance strategies and programs. 
• Excellent understanding of supply chain processes and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. 
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. 
• Detail oriented, analytical and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. 

Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:  

• International and domestic travel required (up to 10%) including by air, ground and overnight. 
• Willing and able to work additional hours when needed.
