ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team

 

  • Unconventional Technology Development Reservoir Engineers develop and deploy new technology aimed at step-change opportunities to improve recovery in unconventional assets
  • Work with multi-discipline teams in our unconventional business and technology development organizations  
  • Leverage fundamental reservoir engineering and simulation skills in reservoir description, surveillance, performance prediction, economic evaluation, development planning, opportunity generation and production optimization
  • The position is located at the  ExxonMobil campus in Spring, Texas

 

What you will do

 

  • Explore, identify, and assess new technology leads for unconventional enhanced oil recovery
  • Develop new approaches to reservoir simulation for novel recovery processes
  • Perform reservoir modeling and simulation for enhanced oil recovery concepts
  • Analyze fluid and core laboratory studies for Unconventional EOR techniques and apply results to field studies
  • Design and implement reservoir surveillance plans combined with production performance analysis to EOR projects
  • Plan, evaluate and execute unconventional asset enhanced oil recovery field trials to provide recommendations and next steps

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Engineering (Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical), Applied and Computational Mathematics, or Applied Physics 
  • 3+ years work experience in Unconventional Reservoir Engineering
  • Ability to complete decline curve analysis, to forecast future production rates, estimate ultimate recoverable oil volume, and perform economic evaluations.
  • Understand Economic evaluations and risk assessments for enhanced oil recovery projects.
  • Strong computer proficiency and familiar with industry software
  • Candidates should be self-motivated and focused on achieving business results while working in a multi-disciplinary team. Demonstrated teamwork, communication and leadership skills are essential

 

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

 

  • 5+ years of post-graduate/non-university industry experience in Upstream O&G with a focus on technology development
