The UMLY School of Dance is seeking an experienced Dance & Tumbling Instructor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in multiple dance genres (ballet, jazz, contemporary, or related forms), coupled with specialized training in tumbling and movement development for children. This position requires a professional who understands how children learn movement skills, can foster a safe and supportive environment, and is committed to helping students develop confidence, creativity, and strong technique.

What You’ll Do

 

  • Teach engaging and developmentally appropriate dance and tumbling classes to children ages 3–12.
  • Design lesson plans that balance skill progression, safety, and creativity while reinforcing foundational dance and tumbling technique.
  • Incorporate child development principles into instruction to ensure classes support physical, social, and emotional growth.
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging classroom environment that motivates students and builds confidence.
  • Collaborate with the School of Dance team to align curriculum, participate in performances, and support studio events.
  • Model professionalism, punctuality, and a strong commitment to student success.

 

 

Qualifications

What You'll Need

 

  • Minimum of 3–5 years teaching experience in both dance and tumbling/gymnastics.
  • Demonstrated background in formal dance training.
  • Strong understanding of movement training for children, including safe spotting techniques and progressive skill-building
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with students and families.
