TITLE
Library Strategic Engagement Specialist
JOB SUMMARY
The Library Strategic Engagement Specialist supports the TWU Libraries' outreach and engagement initiatives by coordinating student programming, maintaining social media presence, and representing the library across campus. This position coordinates library programming efforts from concept through completion, maintaining event inventory and supplies, and scheduling strategic content for digital platforms. The Specialist collaborates with campus partners and student organizations to enhance library visibility, tracks engagement metrics to assess program effectiveness, and assists with promotional materials and special projects that advance the library's strategic goals. Work is performed under limited supervision and performance is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluations system and in accordance with the University Policies and Procedures.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Director, Library Strategic Engagement
Supervises: May supervise Student Assistants
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following:
Provides general assistance in library assessment as needed.
Carries out unit-related special projects.
Supports campus and library events.
Creates student programming for TWU Libraries
Maintains an inventory for supplies and materials needed for events and programming
Creates a strategic content calendar for social media
Schedules approved content on social media and TWU platforms
Assists with promotional material development
Collaborate with student groups and campus departments
Oversee logistical details of library events from concept to post-event reporting
Tracks event participation and engagement
Represents TWU Libraries to external bodies across campus.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Engages in continuing education activities.
Suggests process improvements to inform new and existing workflows.
Serves on library and university committees.
Performs other duties as requested.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree required. Additional job related experience and/or education may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
EXPERIENCE
Two years of library or related experience required.
REQUIREMENT
Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - The following are essential:
Knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe software as well as Google Office Suite.
Knowledge of design software including Canva
Knowledge of social media platforms
Ability to utilize computer technology to access, gather, compile, examine, arrange, and analyze data, generate reports, and communicate with others.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, high-level communication skills including written and verbal.
Ability to problem-solve and prioritize.
Ability to work independently, creatively, collaboratively, and effectively as a team member
Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives, and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.
Ability to handle multiple and simultaneous tasks with ease.
