The Vice President, Global Commodity Management is a dynamic, high energy, detail oriented and structured individual. A proven operational & supply chain leader who is highly experienced in strategic sourcing and category management with a strong understanding of overall business needs and strategic direction.

 

What kind of work will you be doing?

 

• Leverages business acumen and functional expertise to contribute to the strategic direction of Vertiv Supply Chain & Global Procurement by developing global commodity and sourcing strategies for the business.
• Works closely with key stakeholders to understand business needs to ensure identification and segmentation of suppliers and supplier capabilities to meet those needs.
• Works with regional Procurement teams to ensure implementation and execution of sourcing strategies.
• Develops and implements appropriate supplier engagement strategies, particularly with key global suppliers.
• Collaborates with Commodity/Sourcing teams, Supply Chain, Operations, external Suppliers, Finance and Treasury to develop future-looking commodity and inflation exposure and risk mitigation strategies.
• Support monthly and quarterly meetings attended by Senior Supply Chain, Operations, Business Unit and Finance executives to articulate the strength or weakness of relevant commodity performance (price, availability, leadtime, terms, roadmap, etc).
• Provide insight on market intelligence studies, trends and data to optimize Vertiv’s competitive position including monitoring macro trends in supplier/market base to react to volatilities avoiding impact to company (leadtime, pricing, availability, technology)
• Continually develop and maintain commodities expertise to support growth for new projects/products as required by GBU’s
• Focuses on supporting negotiation strategies that mitigate price increase pressures
• You will interact with Suppliers, Procurement, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Finance, Operations

 

What Would Be the Perfect Qualifications?

• CPM or equivalent
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Management, Supply Chain or related discipline
• 10s years of supply chain management experience in the same or related industry that includes strategic sourcing in a global matrix organization
• Extensive knowledge, expertise and skill in global commodities management for power and thermal management related technologies
• Knowledge and ability to utilize industry tools and technologies (hardware and software) to successfully achieve goals
• Demonstrated expert-level negotiations and collaboration skills
• Strong financial/business acumen
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate and work cross-function with all levels of an organization
• Travel is required up to 40% globally.
