Customer Solution Engineer

Serving three primary markets – passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and off-highway equipment – Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.</p> <h3>Position Summary</h3> <p> </p> <p>As core assignment, the employee will be responsible for selecting the proper driveshaft(s) based on customer needs and requirements. He/she will also be responsible to size the power generation and distribution system in electric powertrains considering the specific mission profile.<br/>  </p> <h1>Main Responsibilities</h1> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Customer technical interface: he/she is the main (single) technical interface with the customer. He/she is the customer technical reference during the development of new projects, answer customer questions and leads the problem solving.   </li> <li>Application analysis: starting from the customer requirements, the application knowledge and the customer needs, identifies, calculates and selects the best technical solution(s) to be offered to the customer. Manages the technical presentations to the customer and interacts with Sales and Product Management functions.  </li> <li>Powertrain solutions: in case of powertrain systems (e.g. multiple and interconnected HW and SW elements), he/she is responsible to collect and manage the customer requirements, communicate the requirements to the Product and System Engineering and verify the requirements are met on the final machine.  </li> <li>Continuous improvement: contributes to improve the calculation tools, the processes, the documentation, the vehicle and application knowledge. </li> <li>Mission Profile: gathers (via experimental tests) and analyses mission profile data to support the accurate selection of the power distribution system.  </li> <li>Customer visits: attends meeting at customer site and machine check-out. If needed, especially for high complexity/priority projects, he/she attends testing, commissioning, and development activities at the customer premises.
