JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The College of Agricultural Sciences Fruit Research and Extension Center located in Biglerville, PA is hiring a dedicated and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant, Senior Support, to oversee critical administrative functions. The Administrative Assistant supports the Center Director, is responsible for budgetary operations, department level human resources, manages student graduate house, and is responsible for overseeing all administrative duties of the Center. This position is located in Biglerville, PA and is not eligible for remote work.
Representative Duties:
Plan, organize, support, and coordinate daily office activities and administrative processes within Center
Serve as a member of the administrative team
Work daily with Farm Manager to solve a variety of issues
Collect, organize, research, and analyze information and data to prepare reports
Perform Unit level HR work including posting and advertising of positions, coordinating the hiring process of wage payroll employees
Compose, review, and distribute internal and external communications
Monitor and maintain budget, process financial transactions, track expenditures, process budget revisions, and assist with budget preparation and projections
Monitor and maintain grants and funds for all faculty members
Resolve inquiries and ensure compliance with work unit and/or University policies and procedures
May perform non-routine and confidential administrative duties, and proxy responsibilities as authorized
Coordinate work assignments of department/unit support employees to ensure efficient workflow and processes
Interview, train, supervise and direct the work of other support staff, students, and wage payroll personnel
Coordinate industry field day events including meeting logistics, scheduling, material preparation, and agendas
Oversee coordination of projects, special events, and/or programs
Education and Experience:
Minimum requirements for this position include an associate degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience/Skills:
The successful candidate must be highly motivated and exhibit a high degree of professionalism and initiative. Excellent communication, attention to detail, organization, interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage deadlines is critical, as is the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
