Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Western Digital is seeking a summer intern to join the Global Channel Business Management team in Irvine, CA as a Business Management Summer Intern. During the summer internship, you will be responsible for contributing and completing multiple projects that will help the sales and marketing organization in optimizing product, pricing offerings as well as marketing campaigns. You will work closely with our team of experienced product segment managers, and regional pricing managers to deliver the projects.
An intern in this group can expect to work on and gain experience in the following areas:
Regional Pricing Optimization:
- Review of requested regional pricelists, proposal to remove inefficiencies, including but not limited to pricelist variants
- Deep dive into overall pricing product lists including active and EOL SKUs and aligning with business focus
- Creation of pricing templates for consolidation
Program Review:
- Research and analyze multi-tiered pricing programs and propose options to simplify without forfeiting sales
- Potential expansion of actions to online and offline channels
Marketing Projects:
- Understand product offerings in a designated segment, analyze competition promotional activities, proposing a 360-degree marketing campaign, and performance metrics
- Potential ad hoc projects as needed to support the sales and marketing team
Qualifications
Required
- Current students seeking a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related fields with a graduation date of June 2026 or later.
- Right to work in the US without requiring Western Digital to commence or sponsor an immigration case to employ you at any point in the future required (for example, H-1B or other employment-based immigration case)
- Candidates who will not require relocation to the Irvine, CA will be preferred
Technical
- Experience and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is preferred.
- Ability to approach problems logically and solve them with collaboration with experienced managers and segment leaders.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills to identify and fix issues.
- A strong grasp of business and finance fundamentals.
- Capable of clear communication, preparing presentations, and communicating through emails and chat.
Emotional Intelligence/EQ
- Experience working on group projects or in a team environment.
- Ability to collaborate with team members, listen to feedback, and contribute positively to discussions.
- Eagerness to learn new methods and tools as per project requirements.
- Ability to adapt to different tasks and projects as the team’s needs evolve.
- Good communication skills are important for collaborating with team members and stakeholders
