About the RoleThe Department of Medicine at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center invites applications for an Assistant to Full Professor in Thoracic Oncology to join a nationally recognized, mission-driven team advancing the future of cancer care. Clinical responsibilities are primarily based within the outpatient thoracic oncology clinic and supported by an experienced, multidisciplinary team of advanced practice providers and oncology specialists, with select inpatient responsibilities. Physicians in this role work closely alongside leaders in thoracic surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, pulmonology, and radiology to deliver seamless, comprehensive care to patients facing complex thoracic malignancies.
Beyond clinical practice, this role offers meaningful opportunities to engage in clinical trials, translational research, and academic collaboration within a state-of-the-art cancer center environment. We are seeking an intellectually curious and collaborative physician eager to contribute to scientific advancement, mentor future clinicians, and help redefine what is possible in thoracic oncology.
What You’ll Do
• Provide exceptional outpatient-focused care for patients with thoracic malignancies within a multidisciplinary oncology practice
• Collaborate closely with thoracic surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, pulmonology, and supportive care teams to deliver integrated patient-centered care
• Participate in select inpatient clinical responsibilities as part of a collaborative oncology care model
• Contribute to the advancement of thoracic oncology through participation in clinical trials and translational research initiatives
• Engage in multidisciplinary tumor boards, case conferences, and collaborative treatment planning
• Support academic and educational initiatives through mentorship, teaching, and scholarly collaboration
• Contribute to programmatic growth, innovation, and the continued expansion of thoracic oncology services
• Foster an environment of collaboration, compassion, scientific rigor, and excellence aligned with High Reliability Organization principles

The Thoracic Oncology Program at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is nationally recognized for its multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis, treatment, and research of lung and thoracic malignancies. Faculty work collaboratively across clinical and scientific disciplines to deliver cutting-edge therapies, expand access to clinical trials, and advance translational cancer research.
