Day Shift-40 hours per week
Primary location will be at Cardinal Glennon Hospital, may need to travel at one of our other locations.
Job Summary:
Provides clinical and office support for the Audiology departmentJob Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists the Audiologist with testing the hearing of children through developmentally appropriate interaction and techniques.
- Conducts Newborn Hearing Screenings on infants prior to NICU discharge and completes paperwork and documentation to ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Coordinates buying, receiving, and stocking of audiology clinic supplies to maintain adequate inventory.
- Assists the Audiologist with cleaning and maintaining hearing aids and other amplification devices.
- Organizes and sterilizes treatment rooms, supplies, and equipment on a regular basis.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Communicates effectively and kindly with patients, families, and other hospital staff.
- Participates in team meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
- No experience required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Rare climbing.
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Resuscitation Certification Requirement: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) required within 90 day of employment. Other resuscitation certifications may be required dependent on department.
