Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Project Engineering Manager to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD. The ideal candidate will be a Project Manager with an engineering background with a proven record of project engineering support across the systems engineering lifecycle.  The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting multiple engineering and technical disciplines aligned with numerous ongoing global projects. The successful candidate will schedule, plan, forecast, resource, and manage technical activities aimed at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception through completion, and will also support Tier III engineers in the initiation, planning, coordination, execution, and closeout of various projects and activities to include the support of Network Engineering, Video Teleconferencing, AVMM, Information Assurance, Cabling, and Telephony engineering teams across the systems development lifecycle. Provide strategic direction throughout the engineering process in support of operations spanning both US and overseas locations and requires senior level leadership skills, customer interaction, a strong sense of urgency, and excellent team organizational skills across multiple technology disciplines.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific hardware and software components and systems.
  • Provide requirements elicitation; conduct systems requirements reviews; develop concepts of operation and interface standards; assist in performing technical/non-technical system assessments and management
  • Prepare/write, technical documentation, Statements of work, review billing information and all other Project Management task as assigned.
  • Work with senior engineers and managers to understand and document scope and parameters for project initiation and implementation. Identify project responsibilities, timelines, delegating phases and elements to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Serve as the project engineering interface between the engineering team, vendors, logistics, service delivery field technicians, and project leads to coordinate site visits, order components, and deliver bill of materials.
  • Use standard methods and procedures to track and maintain timely and complete documentation of project work being performed, schedule changes, scope, and resource requirements.
  • Assist the engineering manager in establishing project objectives, procedures, data collection methods, and performance standards within boundaries of program policies.
  • Assist with submission and tracking of project documentation such as: outage requests; site survey planning; logistical support; security acquisition efforts; travel plans; power, space, and cooling reviews; architecture control boards; engineering review boards, etc.
  • Inform engineering managers, team leads and customer of any schedule changes, and work closely with all stakeholders to ensure project elements are reported in a timely manner. Update project related tickets in ServiceNow
  • Maintain oversight of engineering project scheduling and resources, and report regularly to the engineering manager to keep him/her constantly informed of project progress, plans and problems that could significantly affect schedules, cost, and scope
  • Works with engineers to identify and address issues related to ServiceNow ticketing tasks.  Assists engineers to resolve tickets within established SLAs timelines.
  • Host meetings with customers and stakeholders as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to various audiences and to communicate effectively with senior managers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • (12) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are required
  • Experience in a technical management role with an understanding of IT equipment, network, and end user devices.
  • Ability to handle complex customer situations and interact with all levels of personnel to provide a quick and effective resolutions
  • Project management, project engineering, or project planning experience identifying, documenting, and managing project scope, schedule, cost, and quality. PMP® highly desirable but not required.
