Join the Environment, Health, and Safety team in Wilson, NC in support of the Fire Protection Systems Business (FPS)  managing site EH&S programs, fostering collaboration across all levels of our workforce in a fast-paced complex manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide technical guidance to the businesses’ leadership team to ensure effective execution of EH&S Management System requirements.  

  • Find and advocate for EH&S-compliant ways to enable programs to proceed per customer specification and schedule.  

  • Support the organization to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence with EH&S standards and procedures.  

  • Own and mature EH&S programs.    

  • Foster an EH&S culture of collaboration and shared responsibility.  

  • Interact with hourly, management, and contractors in support of EH&S program implementation.  

  • Works on cross-functional projects that interface with other groups, external to and within the core EH&S team

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of metrics.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for EH&S support for one or more businesses within the FPS    

  • Support incident management from investigation through corrective action implementation.  

  • Ensure required EH&S training is provided to workforce as well as any other customized/process specific EH&S training.  

  • Perform technical reviews, risk assessments, analyses, and inspections of processes/facilities.

  • Support assurance reviews, VPP assessments, & program evaluations as well as other internal reviews. 

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks and project.

  • Comfortable working in fast paced manufacturing setting and environment.

  • Assists with improvement and maintenance of EH&S documentation and EH&S (Software) systems.

What You Will Learn:

  • Learn or support high hazard safety programs including Process Safety Management, Pressurized Systems, Explosive Safety Management, Chromium and Cadmium programs

  • Learn or support Environmental programs such as RCRA, Stormwater, Air emissions or Waste Water management  

  • Champion EH&S-compliant solutions that enable our programs to meet customer specifications and deadlines.

  • Learn to oversee incident management processes, from investigation to corrective actions, and ensure timely reporting of EH&S metrics.

  • Learn to conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and supporting internal evaluations.

Qualifications You Must Have: 

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience  

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, EH&S management systems, and manufacturing safety practices.
