Sr. Director, Program Management

Team Description

We are seeking a Sr. Director, Program Management to lead our US program management team reporting to the Leader of Program Management and Product Operations. This role will be critical in developing and implementing strategies that enable us to continue to build a world class program management organization. Program management enables Pendo to be able to efficiently carry out the entire product development lifecycle inclusive of leading our whole product launch process for all product launches. 

Role Responsibilities 

• Lead and mentor a team of program managers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
• Develop and implement program management processes and best practices that utilize Pendo to optimize the product development lifecycle and launch success.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, marketing, sales, and customer success, to define program scope, objectives, and outcomes.
• Drive the execution of multiple concurrent programs, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, business impact and opportunity cost. 
• Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor program performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous optimization.
• Establish efficiency in content creation for organizational events like board meetings, quarterly reviews, product reviews, and company kick off. 
• Establish a strategy for consistent measurement and analysis of adoption and retention as a part of the natural motions of a program manager increasing their ability to be strategic partners in product strategy 
• Proven partner to product SVPs, anticipating their needs, establishing organization and efficiency in how they operate creating space for them to focus on customer engagement and product development. 
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact program delivery, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for executive stakeholders, providing regular updates on program status, risks, and opportunities.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within the program management team and across the organization.
• Develop a strategy for Pendo utilization internally to drive our own product development lifecycle, market thought leadership and improved sales enablement. 

Minimum Qualifications 

• 5+ years of Product Management leadership experience and in depth knowledge of product management skill sets focusing on building software products (ideally analytics products) 
• 10+ years of agile/program management experience leading both teams directly and managing agile team members (scrum masters, program managers, RTEs) 
• 5 + years working directly with C-level executives 
• Strong understanding of go to market motions including the challenges and connection points to product development
• Strong business acumen
• Experience partnering & supporting global teams (EMEA specifically).
• Exceptional communication skills; must be able to influence, build trust and motivate both horizontally and vertically.
• Experience implementing an analytics solution across apps (preferably Pendo) 
• Experience establishing and measuring business outcomes that show efficiency of product and engineering development lifecycles

Preferred Qualifications 

• Past management experience with demonstrated ability to develop/nurture high-potential employees. 
• You know your way around Google Sheets and regularly/comfortably use data (qualitative and quantitative) to tell a story/inform decisions.
• Experience working in both public companies and high-growth VC-backed startups
• New opportunities and challenges excite you. You have experience leading through change.
