About the role

The Team:

This is your opportunity to join our growing Accreditation Preparation Team, located in the Clinical Governance unit of Clinical Quality, Regulation and Accreditation at the Department of Health. The APT team are a dynamic and growing team based in the Hobart CBD.

The focus of our unit is to lead a safe high quality and patient centred health system guided by evidence, driven by continuous improvement and strengthened through collaboration across the health system.  Through the implementation of systems to support clinical governance, accreditation, clinical networks and quality improvement we support and lead statewide quality improvement programs.  You will be required to travel within Tasmania and will be working alongside an amazing and diverse group who are passionate about the Tasmanian Health Service CARE values - Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence

The Role:

The Project Nurse – Accreditation Preparation will coordinate a work program that contributes to remediation activities and system wide improvements to address identified issues consistent with the requirements of the relevant national standard for the public health service.

  • Liaise, consult and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders regarding local needs and priorities to inform policy development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop education resources and provide education as required to support the implementation of quality improvement and accreditation preparation initiatives.
  • This position is based in Hobart, with the expectation that the occupant will periodically travel while conducting onsite accreditation support, education and assessments as required within Tasmania.

You will need:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience of program management, and understanding of national health service Accreditation Standards, the current healthcare system and knowledge of national and international trends relating to the healthcare service within this context.
  2. High-level analytical, conceptual, strategic, research and creative skills and the ability to apply these within political, industrial and organisational environments.
  3. Proven ability to apply rigorous project management methodology in managing a broad range of projects to meet agreed time, cost and quality outcomes.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary:

$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
