As an Accountant at Caterpillar, you are responsible to independently perform accounting functions which require preparation, analysis, and communication of issues of normal to high complexity that support Caterpillar business processes. The following job is within the Earthmoving Product & Strategy Business Resources team.  The position supports Earthmoving Division (EMD) leadership and product groups while also working closely with our enterprise Operating & Execution (O&E) team.  

What You Will Do:

  • Analyze, review, and report on Accountable Reporting Tool (ART), OPACC Analysis Tool (OAT) and Share of Market OPACC (SMO)
  • Presentation and explanation of results to business resources management
  • Partner with the business to provide deeper strategic insights and solve challenges with a customer-oriented mindset
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive insights into Earthmoving costs
  • Collaborate with the Data Analytics team to incorporate Share of Market OPACC (SMO) into the Earthmoving Mission Control (EMC) toolkit
  • Identify and implement process and efficiency improvements

What You Have:

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • 5-7 years of job-related experience
  • Resolve issues independently
  • Understand and manage customer requirements and expectations
  • Demonstrate initiative, leadership, good judgment and accountability as well as be able to work under pressure with tight timelines
  • Demonstrate very good communication skills and have a comprehensive knowledge of Caterpillar businesses, products, suppliers and customers
  • Have a proven record of accomplishments with previous experiences

Additional Details:

  • Location:  Peoria, IL
  • Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify
  • Sponsorship is not available
  • This role requires being in the office 5 days/week
  • 5% travel is expected

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
