Senior Engineer

About the Product & Tech organisation Our Product & Technology organisation drives the development of Trustly’s products. The teams collectively work with innovative ideas, development of products and platform and set the vision and strategy. The Product & Tech department consists of about 180 people. When developing products they aim to be divided into value focused streams with close collaboration with relevant stakeholders. 
All streams consist of product managers, analysts and development teams. They all work closely together to enable new products and features within existing products within Europe. "A tech company at heart"
We are now looking to strengthen our engineering capacity within Product & Technology with multiple senior positions. We operate in an agile culture combined with DevOps, allowing our teams to take on full responsibility from code to on-call.

What you'll do

• In your role as a senior engineer, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining and improving our platform and digital products. 
• Be a part of our development team and build new product features, as well as our next-generation system platform.
• Develop and build scalable systems together with our engineering teams, ensuring high quality in automation and monitoring.
• Work closely with other engineers, lead devs, engineering managers and product managers on a daily basis, understanding and conveying the business value in what we build and why we build it.
• Be a key team member and a role model for other engineers, enabling others to thrive.

Who you are

• 4+ years of experience working with Java and building robust and scalable systems in agile environments.
• Experienced with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Comfortable in full lifecycle development, from drafting application design to implementing and supporting it.
• Experienced in service-based architecture and microservices.
• Experienced in SQL, Kubernetes, Linux, Kafka, Docker or Spring boot.
• Experienced working with cloud based solutions (preferably AWS), monitoring and analytics.
• Strong ability to understand and articulate complex problems.
• Proficient in troubleshooting complex systems.
• Experienced with high-availability, high-transactions systems in production.
• Passionate for working in a DevOps environment, considering ownership and excellence fundamental parts of development.
• Interested in researching and introducing new technologies to drive innovation in your team.
• Committed to build quality in, with experience in test-driven development and various levels of testing.
• Fluent in English.
