Manages the daily operations of assigned areas in Facilities Services. Participates in planning, coordination, and implementation of department goals, initiatives, policies, and procedures. Manages Facilities maintenance projects. Assists in the delivery of facilities services across UMMC campuses.Education & Experience
Education and Experience:
High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of facilities experience.
Certifications, Licenses, or Registration Required:
N/A
Preferred Qualifications:
Healthcare experience. Supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of facilities, maintenance, and repair practices. Knowledge of project management principles, resource allocation, and coordination of people. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate at all levels. Problem resolution skills, and the ability to prioritize projects. Ability to implement policies and procedures, and ability to analyze and prepare applicable reports and documents. Proficient computer skills.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the management of Facilities services units such as Facilities shops and operations center.
- Assists leadership with compliance to regulatory standards, policies and procedures.
- Attends project meetings, provides input to project planners, and relays pertinent information.
- Coordinates and monitors projects and general maintenance activities.
- Reports job completion statistics such as staff, materials, and machinery expenditures.
- Coordinates with facilities leadership and their shops on maintenance and repair projects.
- Assist in the development and implementation of short and long-range Facilities Services goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness and implement improvements as required.
- Supervises direct reports to include work allocation, training, evaluation, and problem resolution.
- Coordinates with other Facilities leadership to meet the needs of Facilities Services.
