Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team in Big Rapids.
 

As a Quality Engineer, you will:

Take on the role of implementing and programming our new Hexagon measurement arms using PolyWorks. This individual will be accountable for overseeing all aspects of our Big Rapids steel plant-level gage calibration, conducting PPAPs, and performing capability studies. Daily responsibilities will include providing floor support to investigate issues, effectively communicating findings to various levels of the organization and suppliers, and collaborating with quality technicians and engineers to promptly address manufacturing concerns. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our quality assurance processes and contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Do you have these required qualifications?

• Bachelor’s degree in quality, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering or equivalent. (In lieu of Bachelor degree, an additional 2 years of work experience is required for every 1 year of education not completed).
• Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• The ability to work on-site in Big Rapids, MI without relocation assistance.
• Ability to climb/bend/balance in manufacturing environment required; must be able to lift/move material weighing up to 70 pounds.

Do you have these preferred qualifications?

• Ability to read engineering prints and drawings
• Experience with ERP system, SAP preferred
• Experience with calipers/linear gages
• Strong color acuity, ensuring accurate differentiation and identification of a diverse range of colors
• Experience with problem solving tools such as PDCA or 5Why
• PPAP experience

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

• Demonstrated ability to work independently on projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent skills prioritizing and organizing work
