THE ROLE

The Director of Finance is responsible for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. The Director of Finance is additionally responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business and leading the new Highmark Stadium’s financial strategy and planning.  The Director of Finance has oversight of the Accounting and Finance functions. Furthermore, this position will monitor and analyze capital and operating budgets, including monthly financial analyses, monthly forecasting, annual planning, cash forecasting, and ad hoc business analyses. 

ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all facets of the business operations including monthly P&L statements and all financial reporting
  • Manage the day-to-day accounting processes including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger. 
  • Support the Business Plan Process and ensure coordination of the annual budgets.
  • Develop annual operating budget and quarterly reviews vs plan.
  • Directly manage the finance and payroll team and responsibilities.
  • Daily reconciliation of cash and credit card transactions. 
  • Prepare a flash revenue report after every event day. 
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial forecasts for comparison to budget.
  • Manage the monthly inventory process and perform in-depth cost of goods analysis.
  • Coordinate preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Ensure a timely and accurate month-end closing process. 
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial results, forecasts, and externally required financial reports.
  • Provide strategic advice based on trends in the operation and financial performance of the venue.
  • Assist in the development of control procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Participate in the planning and administration of the annual budget process including detailed review of departmental budget submissions.
  • Build solid working relationships with business and department leaders. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends & ASM policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE     

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferably in sports, live entertainment, or hospitality industry.
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office software required. 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail essential. 
  • Must be highly analytical, can think creatively, and understand complex business dynamics. 
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment. 
  • Knowledge of point of sale and payroll systems is a plus.
